Cult Favorite: Caudalie Instant Detox Mask

Detoxifying masks are very important to those with oily skin and those who have easily clogged pores like I do. If I go on the week without using a detoxifying mask, I will surely have a pimple the next week. Obviously, I am very particular about the detoxifying #facialmask I use because my skin will surely suffer if I’m not.

The Instant Detoxifying Mask from Caudalie promises to draw out excess oil and toxins, combat congestion, and eliminate dead skin cells. It contains grape marc to detoxify, pink clay and coffee to absorb blackhead-causing dirt and excess sebum, papaya enzymes to invigorate and brighten, and organic essential oils (lavender, cypress, sage, and sandalwood) to provide anti-bacterial properties and nourish. This #facemas is also vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-free, safe for sensitive skin and pregnancy, and free of all fillers, gluten, GMOs, and synthetic chemicals.

The texture of this mask is runny and but feels creamy once applied. It has a nice pink hue which is rare, at least for the masks I have in rotation. Because of the texture, it’s very easy to apply. It smells like unripe grapes, fresh and a bit leafy. It feels tight after about a minute around the drier parts of my face, the u zone. The tightness isn’t like most detoxifying masks that feel like your skin is being pulled up.

With this one, it feels like being pushed down, like it absorbs the dirt from the pores. At least that’s how it felt. Because of the creamy texture, this would require more time to rinse and remove but I didn’t mind it. The creamy texture made the mask feel gentle on the skin. I like using this once a week as a detoxifying mask that is best applied during a good skin week when all you need is to prevent breakouts, not fight them. It leaves the skin thoroughly cleansed and bright after use. I would recommend this to those with sensitive and extremely oily skin who want to prevent breakout because I never experienced one while using this. This is also useful during a busy week because it only requires 10 minutes to dry.

Touchland Power Mist

I was never a hand sanitizer person, never one of those people who kept one dangling in her bag. Then I grew up and realized how dry my hands can get during the day. I now have one on my desk and one in my bag.

The Power Mist from Touchland is a hand sanitizer in a modern and sleek design claiming to provide 500+ sprays to keep the hands bacteria-free, deliciously-scented, and moisturized. It contains ethyl alcohol denat to cleanse, aloe vera to moisturize, glycereth-26 to smooth, radish root ferment filtrate for antimicrobial protection, and lime and lemon essential oils. Touchland also dedicates 5% of their profits in providing sanitizing hygiene solutions to developing countries where there’s water scarcity.

I have the Mint and Forest Berry scents. They both sink in quickly and it takes about four sprays to cover both hands. Mint has a fresh scent while Forest Berry smells like sweet berries. I use it about four times while in the office to help keep my hands moisturized. I like it’s flat and sleek packaging fits easily in my bag and the colors are bright so it’s easy to find.

Goby Rose Electric Toothbrush

I am honestly more scared of the dentist than the doctor. My teeth are weak little shits – I’ve had braces, impacted tooth, bleeding gums, and all those lonely and painful visits to the dentist’s office. So, like skincare routines, I brush my teeth religiously and do everything I can for me not to here my dentist saying, “we need to do something about your teeth.” I’m willing to try anything to avoid spending more than an hour with my dentist.

One of the things I tried is the Electric Toothbrush from Goby. I have it in Rose, a cute pink electric toothbrush included in a kit. The kit contains the electric toothbrush that can be used in two speeds (normal and sensitive). It also has a built-in timer that prompts for 30-second cleansing in every quadrant. The kit also contains a magnetic USB charging shell, an oscillating brush head, a hygienic stand, and a brush head cover.

Compared to other electric toothbrushes, this has a slim toothbrush that can easily be brought anywhere. Aside from making space for its stand, which you can bring to your travels or not, this doesn’t take up too much space in your toiletry bag. It also has a cover for the bristles, a plus when you’re bringing this on-the-go. The actual brush itself has soft bristles so it doesn’t make my gums bleed. It’s also small enough to easily reach the corners of my mouth. I also choose the sensitive mode and it feels cleansing yet gentle on my mouth. I just like it. It’s pretty and effective, what more can I ask for?

Goby is also n partnership with the NYU College of Dentistry’s Global Student Outreach Program donating a percentage of their sales to help provide dental services to people around the world so you’re taking care of your teeth and other people’s as well.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Overnight Cream

Newly released by Caudalie, the Vinoperfect Brightening Glycolic Overnight Cream promises to be a dark-spot-diminishing night cream using papaya extract, glycolic acid, and vine sap viniferine. It also contains hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump, vegetal butylene glucol to moisturize.

This moisturizer smells amazing, as per usual. It has a creamy consistency but has a heavy and buttery texture that scared my oily skin a bit at first. I felt like I’m slathering butter on my face. Fortunately, once massaged onto the skin, it doesn’t feel oily or slick at all. It feels like it emulsifies into a think silky texture that sinks into the skin but leaves a bit of a tacky texture. Amazingly enough, this offers enough hydration and moisture to my skin through the night so I don’t wake up with oilier skin than when I use other heavy moisturizers. I like using this during the weekdays when my skin is exposed to the outdoor and indoor aggressors the most as this helps keep my skin from looking dull the day after. This also helps brighten the skin especially on the darker parts of my face like around my mouth area. I can use this a the moisturizer in my routine or as a sleeping mask if I’m in need of extra moisture and plumpness. I feel like in conjunction with the Vinoperfect Serum, this really helps lightening spots and offer radiance and brightness to the skin. Even if I have an oily skin, I didn’t feel that this is clogging my skin and it doesn’t feel too heavy at all but I would have to see how this works on my skin in the summer. Nevertheless, I’m really enjoying using this, oily skin and all.

Kari Gran Suji Red & Jolene Lip Whip Pair

After discovering a plethora of balms that are not too thick, too sticky, or too “balmy,” I have gotten on the #lipbalm wagon and stayed there. Of course, with the occasional ride on the matte lip town car, but never without a balm underneath. I have a few tinted balms in my arsenal and the Lip Whip from Kari Gran carved itself space there.

At first, I was confused why Kari Gran calls theirs Lip Whip but using it let me understand why. Tagged as the “Better Balm,” the Lip Whip promises to be the perfect mix between a balm and a lipstick while nourishing and moisturizing the lips using vitamin e, camellia oil, and sunflower oil. They are also cruelty-free and are without petrochemicals, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, chemical additives, preservatives, or synthetic fragrance.

I have the Suji Red & Jolene Lip Whip Pair with Suji, a ruby-toned lip whip named after one of the founder’s daughters, and Jolene, which is named after Jolene Hart and can go from a sheer pink to an opaque fuchsia.

Both have a whipped buttery texture that feels nourishing to the lips. Jolene applies in a bright pink that’s good for everyday and Suji gives a wine-colored lip and has a bit more color making it great at night.

The Lip Whip feels like a heavier lip balm and has a cool, minty feel on the lips so it’s really soothing. Since it’s heavier and slicker than most balms out there, this is best applied with a lip brush for me, especially if you want a brighter lip. It can still be applied with your fingers but that offers a sheerer finish and would take more work if you want to build the color.

Nevertheless, it feels nice on and both can be built up if you want a stronger lip color. The color wouldn’t last through a meal but it leaves the lips moisturized, soft and smooth. Honestly, I just like this because of the fact that it’s one of the brightest lip balms I have and it doesn’t sacrifice my need for lip moisture and nourishment.

Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream

Sometimes, when you’re lucky, you get a chance to meet a skincare product that makes you happy. The Premier Cru The Eye Cream from Caudalie is that one for me the past few months.

This eye cream promises to tackle all signs of aging and keep the eye area hydrated, smooth, and firm. It contains soft focus pigments to brighten and smooth while aiming to reduce dark circle and puffiness. it contains vine resveratrol and micro hyaluronic acid complex to prevent wrinkles, form and lift, viniferine to counteracts the look of dark spots and add radiance, grape seed polyphenols to provide antioxidant protection, and caffeine and peptides to fight puffiness and dark circles. This product is also vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-free, and free of all synthetic chemicals, artificial fragrances, fillers, gluten, and GMOs.

It’s thick that doesn’t feel uncontrollable or unsinkable at all. It has a sort of whipped texture and the product dries quickly, which I am really a fan of. I may have dry under eyes but I am still not used to my eye cream feeling heavier than my face creams but this is just right. It leaves my eye area matte but properly moisturized. This firmed my eye area like no other while still moisturizing it. I also noticed that after a few months of using this that it lessened the few crow’s feet that I have. I also like using this in the morning as it helps de-puff and brighten my eye area without messing my makeup.

I would recommend this to those with really dry under eyes who are looking to brighten and firm their eye area. My eye area just drinks this right up. I really like it, honestly.

Madara Cosmetics Exfoliating Scrub Oil to Milk

Next to cleansers, physical exfoliants are my second fave skincare product. I mean, they are second if ever someone asks me to rank them but I love them all. I have masks in powder, clay, and mousse forms. I have peel off masks and wash-off masks. Since my pores easily get clogged and need to be constantly cleared for me to avoid blemishes and blackheads, I have specific masks to use for specific situations. However, I never got around face scrubs. As resistant as my skin is, I find scrubs to be too abrasive and too severe for my skin.

However, when I saw the Exfoliating Scrub Oil to Milk from Madara Skincare, I wanted to try it because the name itself sounds it would be gentle. It made me research on the brand and test the actual product.

Madara Organic Skincare creates products from organically certified natural extracts from plants in the Northen Baltic regions. They look into Northern healing herbs and flowers and test what more nature can offer for our skin in their labs.

The actual face scrub has an oil-based formula and promises to be gentle while softening and renewing the skin. It has apricot and oat oil molecules to remove dirt and impurities, natural volcanic sand to unclog pores, remove dead cells, and polish the skin, and natural wax microbeads to resurface the skin. The scrub is meant to be massaged on dry skin before mixing a splash of water to melt the oil into a milky texture before rinsing.

It smells like butter and feels really gentle on the skin. Because of its oily texture, it felt really greasy, almost like an oil cleanser, as I massage it onto the skin. I also like that it doesn’t feel like its scratching my skin and I do not feel any tingling sensation whenever I use the scrub. It takes a while to get used to but it was surprisingly easy to remove. I just feel like I’m doing my first cleanse. It doesn’t leave an oily film but it doesn’t completely leave my skin matte and dry. It just leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and my skin look plump and glowing.

Since this product is certified ECOCERT and made from natural and organic ingredients, I would recommend this to those with sensitive skin looking for a gentle yet effective exfoliator. It’s also nut-free and plastic microbead-free so this will be a good option for those with allergic reactions to the above. The product is also cruelty-free. For me, however, this is a good mask on days when you don’t have to treat any skin problems and just want to maintain a smooth and glowing complexion.

Panacea Skincare The Aegis Daily Facial Cleanser

What started as a way to find ways to solve her skincare problems, Terry Lee created products that aim to remove impurities, excess oil, and makeup while maintaining the skin barrier. These skincare products are the foundation of Panacea Skincare, which are developed and tested on all skin types, including sensitive and acne-prone, to promote clean, healthy skin. Made in Korea, their products use ingredients that are cruelty-free and are made without parabens and sulfates.

The Aegis Daily Facial Cleanser promises to draw out impurities and rinse off without stripping the skin. It has the brand’s Moisture Shield Complex, which is a blend of glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and methylpropanediol, to nourish and hydrate the skin. It also contains laminaria japonica to eliminate toxins, green tea extract to moisturize and nourish, vitamin e for its antioxidant benefits, and fig extract to hydrate the skin and tighten pores.

With its thick foaming texture, this is an instant like. It feels like the cleansers I usually go for – thick, foaming, and a dream to massage on the skin. It lathers easily and a pea-sized amount can already cover my entire face. Upon rinsing, it removes excess oil on the skin, leaving it squeaky clean. However what I like about this is even though it removes all the build-up on my skin, it doesn’t leave it dry or stripped. Those with dry to normal skin types might have another opinion but for my oily skin, it’s just right.

Corpus Natural Deodorant, Cedar Flora

These past few months, I have been using a variety of natural deodorants and I have experienced varying results. However, Cedar Flora from Corpus Naturals really stood out for me.

In chic mint green packaging, the deodorant from Corpus Naturals is water-based and promises to be long-lasting while reducing body odor without the chalky residue. It is also naturally-derived, vegan, and cruelty-free. It doesn’t contain parabens, talc, baking soda, phthalates, synthetic fragrances, aluminum. The deodorant comes in five variants and I got the Cedar Flora scent because I just have a complete bias toward floral smells.

Cedar Flora contains cedarwood, white musk, jasmine, guaiac wood and it smells like it. It’s a strong fresh floral, musky scent that doesn’t overpower my perfume. The actual deodorant feels creamier than the other deodorants I’ve tried. It applies wet and dries slower than normal deodorants but it doesn’t stain on my clothes. It also feels gentler and moisturizing to the skin. Out of all the natural deodorants I’ve tried, this one acclimated to my skin the quickest. Within three weeks, unless it’s really hot out, I didn’t sweat or smell. It also helped whitened my skin a bit. It really just matched my skin and I can’t get enough of it!

Cult Favorite: Caudalie Beauty Elixir

A classic, the Beauty Elixir from #caudalie was inspired by the centuries old ‘elixir of youth’ used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary.

The mist contains grapes to moisturize, rose oil to tone, and rosemary to energize the skin.

I have always like the cooling sensation this gives on first spritz. I like using this after masking or after using acids. It’s soothing and very refreshing to the skin. The smell, which always reminds me of me mother, was something I’ve already gotten used to. It’s a classic go-to #facemist to hydrate and refresh the skin.
