Akoco sent over a few K-Beauty products and I have been playing with me for a few weeks now. I have been doing a longer morning routine are now more discerning as to how most products work.
I am no stranger to cleansing pads but the Latte Bubble Deep Cleansing Pads from Sonreve feels so gentle on the skin while cleansing. To use, you wet one side with water and lather before wiping the embossed side on the face. You can use the rougher side afterward before rinsing but I only do that when I want to exfoliate.
To tone, the Fresh Calming Balancing Toner Pack from Laneige promises to refresh the skin and restore the skin’s moisture and oil balance. I have not tried the bottled version of this one but this toner pack is very travel-friendly. I know we can’t travel right now but the thin packaging would be very useful when we do. For now, I have been using this while checking my emails. It feels calming and not stripping.
I never thought I’d be able to mask while I work but this is where we are now. The Aloe Soothing Mask Pack from Benton aims to revitalize, hydrate, nourish, and moisturize the skin using aloe leaf water, camellia sinensis leaf water, glycerin, pentylene glycol, and sodium PCA. I have tried this before and it’s soothing and relaxing to the skin, especially when your skin is feeling sensitive.
The No-Sebum Mineral Powder from Innisfree claims to be a replacement for oil control paper. This is also another product that I have tried before and it does mattify the skin. It’s great for those who don’t wear much makeup but wants to keep the skin matte.

The Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner from Ole Henriksen promises to brighten and smooth the skin, reduce the look of dark spots, and target fine lines and wrinkles using glycolic and lactic acids, sandalwood extract, chamomile extract, and licorice extract.
This has that sweet smell that the PHAT Glow Facial has. It’s very watery but leaves a bit of a tacky finish to the skin. It stings when swiped on the skin but it only lasts for a few seconds. A few months of using this, I noticed its refining, smoothing, and brightening benefits to the skin. I have a few bumps at the side of my face and this helped a lot in smoothing those parts of my face. Even though this is recommended for daily use, I only use this two times a week so it took more than a month to see results. If you love Ole Henriksen, this is worth checking out if you want to improve your skin’s texture while brightening and smoothing the complexions.

Oooh, the smell of the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($45) from Sol de Janeiro is out of this world amazing. It aims to smooth and visibly tighten the appearance of the skin using guaraná extract, cupuaçu butter, açaí oil, coconut oil, and guayusa.
This feels thick but goodness, this is one of the best smelling skincare products I have ever come across. It might feel thick and I would have to get more product to apply but it sinks in luxuriously into the skin, quickly as well. It doesn’t feel sticky afterward, which I thought would happen. It leaves the skin velvety and soft. The moisture lasts for so long. I put this on one afternoon and my skin still felt soft and smooth 24 hours after. I like to use this at night and wake up with smooth and firm skin.
This product is also cruelty-free, vegan, and are made without gluten, soy, parabens, artificial colorants, phthalates, PEGs, talc, sulfate, mineral oil, and microbeads.

I am a late passenger to the Youth to the People train but I can’t believe how good all the products I’ve tried to feel on my skin. Some of their products are already my favorites and I am adding a few more.
The Superfood Skin Reset Mask ($44) promises to balance and restore dull and tired skin using spirulina, bioactive microalgae, and kale. This creamy mask feels a bit warmer than most masks. It also stings a bit as it dried the first time I used it but that sensation was gone in the succeeding applications. It smells grassy and a bit rubbery but dries like some of the product sunk into my skin. It’s easy to remove despite the creamy texture. I use this twice a week during the weekdays as it provides hydration after each use. My skin also feels soft and looks bright whenever I use this. It’s the mask I go for if I want to refresh my skin.
I have a penchant for vitamin c serums because they just work so well for my skin. Recently, I am coming across more nourishing vitamin c serums and I am so not mad about it. The combination of vitamin c and peptides is something I didn’t know my face needed until I tried it. The Superfood Firm + Brighten Serum ($62) has tripeptide 5, cross-linked hyaluronic acid, and chelates vitamin c. This is the only vitamin c serum I’ve tried that’s hydrating to my skin. It has a light gel-like texture that sinks into the skin quickly, which totally works for my oily skin. It’s gluey and it smells a bit like it too but the scent dissipates after a few seconds. The consistency leaves the skin feeling plump and soft. I have more potent vitamin c serums but using this afterward leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated. The texture also works well after makeup.
These products have been helping my goal to keep my skin hydrated and nourished. They all feel gentle and light on the skin and just leaves me feeling happy after doing my skincare routine. The Superfood Skin Reset Mask has recently been my go-to for masking after a long day. I am honestly glad to have come across Youth to the People because their products are not only effective but they also make my skin happy.
These products are vegan, cruelty-free, made with cold-pressed extract and formulated without parabens, phthalates, and dimethicone.

I used to not be a mascara person. I just felt like I never needed it. I rarely do eye makeup every day but since I started doing my makeup every day, I noticed why people love mascaras so much. They just make the eyes look more awake and the whole look more alive.
Also, most of the mascaras I try go to my under eyes before the day ends. I don’t know how or why but it’s what always happens. Over time, I guessed that I like plastic and rubber brushes more than the bristle brushes.
Recently, however, I got the chance to try the Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced and I can’t take it for a drive. Every YouTuber I watched have this in their stash so, there must be something, right?
The Better Than Sex Mascara promises to provided defined and multidimensional lashes with film-forming polymer for smudge-proof, all-day wear.
First off, I really like how black this is. If you’re going for impact, this is worth checking out. It has an hourglass-shaped brush with extra stiff bristles and application is easy even if the brush is bigger and longer than most mascaras I’m used to. One coat leaves my lashes looking longer. I also look like I have more lashes than I really do. Two coats give me clumpy, spidery lashes, which is a look. I stick to one coat because I usually just go for a natural makeup look. This lasts the whole day but this smudges my undereyes so, I always need to check my makeup when I was using this.
I’d like to stick with plastic and rubber bristles for now.
