Makeup Review: Ogee Sculpted Lip Oil and Tinted Sculpted Lip Oil

I have already gotten to the point where my makeup routine has become a part of my muscle memory – SPF, liquid foundation, brows pencil, blush, and lip color. It’s safe, it works, but it doesn’t mean it’s boring. I get to have my fun by choosing a variety of lip colors. So, I was really happy to receive the Sculpted Lip Oils from Ogee.

Coming in 9 variants (one clear and eight tinted oils), the conditioning lip treatment contains a blend of organic cold-pressed organic cold-pressed jojoba oil, coconut oil, peppermint oil, hyaluronic acid, and beeswax to moisturize and nourish the lips. They all apply matte and leaves my lips feeling soft and smooth.

The Sculpted Lip Oil in Clear ($22) feels like a light balm with a subtle sheen. It’s a good everyday balm if just want moisture and hydration.

If you’re looking for both color and care, the Tinted Sculpted Lip Oil ($26) comes in eight shades – Azalea (fuchsia), Begonia (red plump), Camellia (pink), Dahlia (burgundy wine), Gardenia (nude), Linnea (shimmery peach), Magnolia (white pink), and Zinnia (tomato red). They all apply smoothly and the pigmentation is buildable. The lighter colors are easier to apply while the darker and brighter ones need a couple more swipes to get even application or more if you want depth. I also like to mix and match for variation – Camellia and Azalea for a pink gradient or Linnea on top of every shade for additional shine.

They do not last through drinks and food but the pencil-like packaging makes it easy to reapply. They leave the lips soft and smooth making it a good everyday lip color option for those who want effective and cruelty-free makeup. These lip oils are also made without gluten, silicones, petroleum derivatives, phthalates, parabens, artificial fragrances, synthetic dyes, and GMOs.

Brand Overview: Wander Beauty

They are all pink so, first off, thank you for being so pretty. The packaging and the actual product inside Wander Beauty are honestly so pretty making it a joy to use. However, let’s see the results.

The BRB Multipolish ($36) promises to brighten, refine, and balance the skin with plant-derived cellulose, pineapple, and papaya enzymes, glycolic acid, pomegranate and meadowfoam seed oils. I have repeatedly written here that I prefer wash off masks over scrubs so its prettiness is the only thing that propelled me to give this a try. Compared to other scrubs I’ve tried, this has smaller beads but that doesn’t mean it scrubs any less. It does exfoliate like other scrubs and leaves the skin feeling smooth. I like using this better on my lips to exfoliate.

The Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask ($34) uses acai, goji berry, blueberry, lychee, mangosteen, and green tea extracts to purify and replenish dull skin and kaolin to absorb excess oil and draws out impurities. This is a berry colored #peeloffmask and it looks so pretty when applied. It also feels gentle on the skin. However, as I prefer wash-off masks, I don’t reach for this as much.

I really like how the Baggage Claim Eye Masks ($25) are packaged individually. This #eyemask promises to brighten, hydrate and reduce the appearance of dark circles using hyaluronic acid, aloe leaf extract, and amino acids. These travel-friendly eye masks feel soothing and hydrating to the eye area. It also feels very high-quality and doesn’t easily slip even if I use this sitting upright. I cannot attest to reducing the appearance of dark circles but it does offer immediate brightening.

The Dive In Moisturizer ($36) aims to offer 72 hours of deep hydration with pentavitin, glycerin, panthenol, and sodium hyaluronate, and strawberry, raspberry, cranberry and acai berries. This light pink #moisturizer applies like silk when massaged onto the skin. It has an elegant texture and it leaves the skin feeling silky and plump. However, it’s not hydrating or moisturizing enough for my #oilyskin, especially during this warm weather. I usually wake up with a shiny face whenever I use this.

My favorite out of the bunch is the Lip Retreat Oil ($22), treatment oil that uses rosa canina fruit oil, apricot kernel, and avocado oil to firm and moisturize. This applies like a glossy gel. It has a certain grip to it but it applies so easily on the lips. The nude, Skinny Dip, one suits my lips greatly as it helps even the tone while Excursion offers a berry-colored tone if you want a bit of boldness. It has a good enough staying power, meaning it gets past drinks and lip licking. It doesn’t stick to my hair and the shine it has is not that distracting. Just a bit of something extra to the look.

I have really enjoyed using the Baggage Claim Eye Masks and Lip Retreat Oil. The Dive In Moisturizer might be best suited for those with normal skin while BRB Multipolish and Lift Off Purifying and Brightening Peel Off Mask is a good option for those who like face scrubs and peel-off masks.
