Using coconut water, prickly pear, and coconut milk, BareMinerals created the Pureness Gel Cleanser and Pureness Soothing Light Moisturizer to hydrate, balance, replenish, and soothe the skin.
The Pureness Gel Cleanser feels mild and gentle on the skin. The gel cleanser feels soothing and refreshing to the skin. It doesn’t leave the skin stripped and dry. When used in the morning, this leaves my skin feeling a bit oily.
The Pureness Soothing Light Moisturizer feels lightweight. It has a slightly watery consistency but feels creamy on the skin. It quickly sinks in but leaves a satin-like but not tacky texture on my face. This does lean more on the moisturizing side than hydrating.
Both vegan, I feel that these products were for those who have normal skin types that love BareMinerals. These are both gentle and soothing but my oily skin would need more than that.

Selfcare wise, I’ve been enjoying having the time to focus on applying and reapplying lip balms. I’m okay with the application part, it’s the reapplying that I used to have a hard time reminding myself. My lips are not that dry, to begin with so forgetting is easy. Not saying it should stay that way. It’s just so easy to forget.
Now that I’m working from home, I have the luxury of reminding myself. While working, I’ve been using the Jelly Glaze Anytime Lip Mask from Tarte Cosmetics. These lip masks promise to hydrate and smooth the lips while offering a sheer tint. It uses squalane, hyaluronic acid, marine plant extracts, and a blend of avocado, jojoba argan oils.
I haven’t been wearing makeup everyday especially if I don’t have online meetings to attend to. If I do I just put brow makeup and one of the Jelly Glaze Anytime Lip Masks to add a bit of color and shine to make me look alive and not all nap-ready. They have the shades Strawberry (sheer pink), Grapefruit (sheer coral), and Toasted Coconut (sheer nude), which applies really sheer. I like Strawberry as the pink tint works for my lips.
These Lip Masks are pretty hydrating and moisturizing. I like about these lip masks because they apply thinly on the lips and it actually feels lightweight. It’s how I prefer my lip products because I do not like feeling something sitting on top of my lips while I work. It makes me want to eat, I don’t know why. I also like that even though they look slightly glossy, they don’t feel sticky. They claim to work both day and night but I usually use these in the morning as I prefer something much thicker at night. They also keep me from wetting my lips constantly, which prevents them from drying.

I have been on the lookout for the most suitable body moisturizer for me and I might have found them through these body creams from Sol de Janeiro.
Ticking my wish for a thin, quick-sinking texture, the Coco Cabana Cream ($45) promises to treat and transform the driest and most dehydrated skin. It contains coconut oil, fermented sugar, cupuaçu butter, and açaí oil to provide lasting hydration while nourishing the skin. This has a sweeter more coconut-y scent than I would prefer. The scent lasts so long as well. I once used this before bed and I woke up to my bedroom smelling like a beach. Scent aside, I love how this sinks in so quickly and how it dries matte on the skin. I like using this on days when I know it would be too hot outside. It keeps my skin moisturized without the tackiness and grossness.
If you’re looking for something fragrance-free, the Brazilian Nude Cream ($40), promises to nourish, hydrate, balance, and soothe even the most sensitive skin. It uses brazilian passionflower and colloidal oatmeal. It’s lightweight and creamy, a sweet middle ground between the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and Coco Cabana Cream. It also applies thinly on the skin and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling.
These products are cruelty-free, vegan, and are made without gluten, soy, parabens, artificial colorants, phthalates, PEGs, talc, sulfate, mineral oil, and microbeads.

I’ve currently been using the Super Serum Skin Tint from Ilia Beauty. It has SPF 40, which totally works for me. The skin tint is also formulated with a blend of hyaluronic acids, squalene, and niacinamide to even, hydrate, and plump the skin, soften fine lines and imperfections, and boost antioxidant effectiveness. It’s also oil-free and silicone-free.
I’m honestly surprised to find this not oily at all. it feels creamy but it applies thinly on the skin and provides enough coverage. When I mean enough, I mean this was able to lightly cover up discoloration and redness. Not everything but enough to make me look like I care. It doesn’t blur pores and texture but it just gives me healthy-looking and plump complexion. I also like that this doesn’t feel like it’s sitting on top of your face. Instead, it just leaves a slightly silky texture.
I like applying this is with the damp sponge and I like how this evenly blends well into the skin easily, without any streaking or pilling. I didn’t have any problems combining this with other creamy products like the Liquid Light, Color Haze, and Multi-Stick. This is what I use whenever I want to go for that natural dewy look.

The first time I saw the Air Heart Lightweight Natural Finish Lipstick from Kaja, it immediately intrigued me. It’s heart-shaped. I mean yes, it’s cute, but is it usable?
This lipstick promises to not only look cute on your shelf, but it also claims to have an air-light, cushiony formula that is pigmented and lightweight on the lips. I have the shades 01 Sweetheart (pale pink), 03 Ride or Die (dusty mauve), 04 Bae (rich mahogany), and 05 Sprung (nude rose).
They feel light and airy when applied. They have a satin-like feeling to them once you put them on your lips. I love the colors they sent over because they suit my skin tone well. I can apply this by swiping if I want to get the full color, which actually surprised me. Looking at the matte packaging, I expected a more muted version of the shades advertised but they are brighter and deeper when applied to my lips. I also apply these by gently dabbing them on my lips for a blurred look. I like 01 Sweetheart for some light color and 04 Bae if I want to have a darker look.
I thought the heart-shaped end would make the application difficult but it didn’t. The corners actually help me, especially in my cupid’s bow. The finish is indeed airy but the product feels creamy on the lips. They’re able to cover discoloration as the pigmentation on my lips is strong. They also don’t settle on the texture of my lips but they kind of feel like they’re sitting on top of it. However, if you blot, the color is still there but it dries to a matte finish. As a matter of preference, I blot after applying them because they look more natural that way.
What I like about them is that they are not drying at all. I think because of how they sit on the lips and the formulation, they don’t feel like they are sucking the life out of my lips.
