Skincare Review: Bliss Pumpkin Powerhouse Mask, Drench and Quench, and Green Tea Wonder Mask

Some Bliss tubs I’ve been testing the past few months.

The Pumpkin Powerhouse Mask promises to exfoliate and resurface the skin using pumpkin puree, lemon and rice powders, and sodium hyaluronate, and shea butter. This is a creamy mask with tiny bits that feels soft and not at all scratchy. It almost feels likes tiny fibers. It just that lightly exfoliates the skin. The masks sting a bit but it does soften the skin. After every application, this helped with my skin’s texture a bit.

To moisturize, the Drench & Quench promises to hydrate and balance the skin with purified microalgae, hydrozome, vitamin c, milk thistle oil, passion fruit seed oil, and german chamomile. As expected, this gel moisturizer feels like a burst of water when you apply it to the skin. It also has a fresh floral scent that’s similar to body moisturizers my aunt used to use when I was a kid. It settles into this slightly creamy, silky texture as it dries. It feels hydrating, which didn’t really surprise me. It’s just not as hydrating as I would like.

I have never encountered a cuter overnight mask than the Green Tea Wonder Mask. It glistens on my hands on my face when applied. Aside from how it looks, this overnight mask also aims to balance and smooth the skin while absorbing excess oil using azelaic acid, fermented green tea oil, green tea extract, aloe leaf juice, and rosa canica extract. This feels so good on the skin. It feels soothing and rejuvenating so I use this after exfoliating or when my skin is feeling sensitive. Most of my overnight masks focus on hydration so this is a welcome addition in my stash.

Skincare Review: Murad Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum and Vita-C Eyes Dark Circle Corrector

I’m a vitamin c fan so I am happy to see a lot of vitamin c-focused products. Newly launched from Murad is the Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum and Vita-C Eyes Dark Circle Corrector – both gold-stabilized (for enhanced stability, efficacy and potency) and promising healthier and brighter skin.

Containing vitamin c and glycolic acid, two ingredients that my skin loves, the Vita-C Glycolic Brightening Serum aims to protect, brighten, and combat dullness. First off, the serum looks metallic. It has a creamy consistency and it feels light and nourishing on the skin. It spreads thinly and sinks in quickly, leaving a plump surface. It does have a tingling sensation seconds after application, which I didn’t really mind. I like that it virtually doesn’t smell like anything. After a couple of weeks , I can see how it brightened my skin and left it looking plump and soft. I do not have grave skin problems right now, which I’m thankful for, but I do need to protect and maintain it that’s why I like products like this to help me.

Similar to the serum, the Vita-C Eyes Dark Circle Corrector glistens and is light-reflecting. It uses gold-stabilized vitamin c, red and brown algae extracts, light-reflecting micro-minerals, and cucumber extracts to protect, de-puff, soothe, brighten, and hydrate the eye area. The glowing cream spreads thinly on the eye area and feels hydrating on my dry under eyes. A little goes a long way on this one. A couple of dots cover both areas and still leave a creamy finish. It prevents my eye area from feeling too dry. It also leaves a bit of tingling but not as strong and as long as the serum does. I will have to use this more to see it’s brightening effects but the light-reflecting particles help cover my dark undereye circles when I use it in the morning. It also hydrates and keeps my eye area from feeling and looking dry.

Skincare Review: Rosen Super Smoothie Cleanser and Bright Citrus Serum

Focusing on acne, Rosen Skincare offers cleaner and more thoughtful skincare products. They sent a few products that they recommended for my oily and acne-prone skin.

The Super Smoothie Cleanser promises to help balance oil levels, fade dark spots, and help you glow using strawberry powder, lemon powder, and raspberry powder. It has a refreshing feel and a natural plant-y smells when you apply it. I didn’t see its dark spot fading benefits but it does cleanse my skin and balance its oiliness.

Containing 20% vitamin c, grapefruit oil, glycerin, and mulberry extract, the Bright Citrus Serum aims to help with scarring, PIH, and discoloration. After using this for a couple of months, I can attest as to how this brightened my skin and lightened some dark spots that I had under my chin. I also enjoy its non-sticky consistency that sinks into the skin quickly.

Skincare Review: SVR Laboratoire Ampoule Hydra, Ampoule Anti-Ox, and Ampoule Lift

At my age, hydration, plumping, and radiance are important. That’s why I enjoyed trying out these new ampoules from SVR Laboratoire. As someone with oily and aging skin, I enjoyed their texture. For an ampoule, they all felt lightweight and gentle on the skin. I also liked how they all felt nourishing.

The Ampoule Hydra uses vitamin b3 and a combination of 3 hyaluronic acids to soothe, strengthen, and plump skin.

It has a gel texture but it feels thicker than most hyaluronic acid serums. I didn’t mind, though, as it dries matte quickly. It feels hydrating and plumping on the skin. I have been using this every day and I can’t get enough. My skin just loves its hyaluronic acid formulation.

For radiant and toned skin, the Ampoule Anti-Ox uses 20% optimized vitamin c.

It has a watery and runny texture but applies a bit oily on the skin. It also sits on top of the skin so I prefer a more oily-skin friendly vitamin c to be used in the morning. Those with dry skin might enjoy this better.

A new favorite, the Ampoule Lift promises to improve texture, diminish signs of wrinkles, and leave the skin smooth and even using retinol.

This has helped with my fine lines and it doesn’t sting at all. Its thin and milky consistency goes well with my skin. It applies thinly and feels light on the skin. Compared to the retinol products I have in my stash, this has the thinnest and lightest consistency. After a couple of months of use, this left my skin plump and smooth.

Cult Favorite: Holifrog Como Popp-E Renewal Scrubby Wash

I am more of a mask person than a scrub person but trying a lot of products made me appreciate scrubs more. Even though I really prefer masks I find that some scrubs really get when it comes to smoothing and softening my skin. I have tested a few scrubs but have only one in my stash and I’m happy to add the Como Popp-E Renewal Scrubby Wash from Holifrog. It was honestly love at first application.

This face scrub promises to exfoliate while nourishing the skin for a soft, dewy, and polished complexion without redness or irritation. It contains poppy seeds, bamboo stem powder, black currant seed oil, poppy seed oil, vitamin c, vitamin e, apricot kernel oil, borage seed oil, rosehip fruit oil, and astaxanthin.

It has a gel consistency that feels a bit oily but not oilier than I expected. I use this after double cleansing a couple of times a week. Due to the consistency, it almost feels like massaging a creamy, moisturizing mask onto my skin. It’s gentle and even though the poppy seeds don’t melt once it’s massaged onto the skin. I massage it for a few seconds before rinsing and I really like the instant result it gives.

After rinsing, my skin felt smooth and soft but not tight and dry. I have been using this once a week and I just really enjoy the feeling of my skin after each use. I will continue to use this and keep it as it just makes my skin look healthier and clearer. This is honestly my favorite product from Holifrog.

For those wondering, this product is also made without Acrylates, Alcohol (SD alcohol, ethanol, denatured, isopropyl, methanol or ethyl alcohol), Aluminum compounds, Benzalkonium Chloride, BPA, Butoxyethanol, Chemical Screens, Coal Tar Dyes, DEA, Detergent, Dyes, EDTA, Essential Oils, Ethoxylated ingredients, Formaldehyde, Fragrance, Heavy metal, Hydroquinone, MEA, Mercury + mercury compounds, Methylisothiazolinone, Mineral Oil, Palm oil, Parabens, PEGs, Phthalates, Polysorbate, Propylene Glycol, Resorcinol, Silicones, SLES, SLS, TEA, Toluene, and Triclosan.
