Makeup Review: Tarte Jelly Glaze Anytime Lip Mask

Selfcare wise, I’ve been enjoying having the time to focus on applying and reapplying lip balms. I’m okay with the application part, it’s the reapplying that I used to have a hard time reminding myself. My lips are not that dry, to begin with so forgetting is easy. Not saying it should stay that way. It’s just so easy to forget.

Now that I’m working from home, I have the luxury of reminding myself. While working, I’ve been using the Jelly Glaze Anytime Lip Mask from Tarte Cosmetics. These lip masks promise to hydrate and smooth the lips while offering a sheer tint. It uses squalane, hyaluronic acid, marine plant extracts, and a blend of avocado, jojoba argan oils.

I haven’t been wearing makeup everyday especially if I don’t have online meetings to attend to. If I do I just put brow makeup and one of the Jelly Glaze Anytime Lip Masks to add a bit of color and shine to make me look alive and not all nap-ready. They have the shades Strawberry (sheer pink), Grapefruit (sheer coral), and Toasted Coconut (sheer nude), which applies really sheer. I like Strawberry as the pink tint works for my lips.

These Lip Masks are pretty hydrating and moisturizing. I like about these lip masks because they apply thinly on the lips and it actually feels lightweight. It’s how I prefer my lip products because I do not like feeling something sitting on top of my lips while I work. It makes me want to eat, I don’t know why. I also like that even though they look slightly glossy, they don’t feel sticky. They claim to work both day and night but I usually use these in the morning as I prefer something much thicker at night. They also keep me from wetting my lips constantly, which prevents them from drying.

Bodycare Review: Luxury Hand Creams

Being more mindful of moisturizing my hands nowadays. Currently using the new Luxury Hand Cream from Henne Organics.

The hand cream promises to moisturize the skin without the greasy feeling using aloe leaf juice, argan oil, glycerin, jojoba seed oil, caprylic triglycerides, and shea butter. It comes in two scents – Blomma, a blend of twinflower, rose, and geranium, and Citrus.

The tube packaging of the Luxury Hand Creams are very luxurious and compact. Both hand creams have a silky oily finish which I can still feel after minutes of application. It feels better when my skin is feeling extremely dry. The scent is strong, with the Citrus a tad stronger than Blomma, upon application but dissipates seconds after. What I also noticed with these hand creams is that you might need to put more than a pea-sized amount for each hand. They are moisturizing and the moisture they bring lasts more than most hand creams but personally, my hands normally don’t feel that dry so, on normal days, I prefer something that doesn’t feel oily.

Makeup Review: Yulip Gochujang and My Jam

Playing with the new lipsticks from Yulip Beauty. These new releases are bright and deep.

I was excited to find out that they named this red Gojuchang because it looks exactly like the Korean chili paste that I like to eat. It is a bright chili red hue with a coral undertone and it reminds me of Korean food so much. It suits my skin tone really well that I can even pull this off during the day.

The other shade, My Jam, is a fun pink. It’s a bright fuschia pink that looks brave. I mean I don’t use this daily but if I want some impact and I don’t have time to create an elaborate eye look, I just pull this one out.

Both lipsticks contain castor seed oil, evening primrose oil, candelilla wax, jojoba oil, and beeswax. They feel moisturizing on the lip and nourishing too. They are a nice break from my matte lipsticks and are just so fun to look at. They are cruelty-free and are also formulated without synthetic fragrance, artificial colorants, sulfates, and parabens.

Makeup Review: Kosas Weightless Lip Color, Vegas

I love Kosas. The Weightless Lip Color was the first product I bought from them. Even before when the brand has sent me all of the shades, I already have most of them. That’s how much I love the Weightless Lip Color.

Nevertheless, I thought it was incredibly brave of them to release one (yes, just one) new additional shade. And it’s nude. However, Kosas knocks it out again because this nude is just right for my skin tone.

Some nudes make me look sick or are too dark for me. Vegas doesn’t provide the deep peachy tone I saw on the models in their site. This looks lighter for my skin but I like how it doesn’t have a pink undertone, which is what most of my nude lip colors have. This is more on the beige side of the spectrum, which goes well when I go for bright cheeks during the day or a colorful or deep eye look at night.

As for the application, it offers the same smooth and even application from the soft and buttery texture of the Weightless Lip Color due to the butter and oil it contains. It feels equally hydrating. However, I feel like Vegas looks like it has more sheen than the other shades. I don’t have a problem with it as it provides dimension to my beige lips but it is worth noting. I still love it, though. I have been wearing Vegas since I got it. I also love the white packaging, which is something new for the Weightless Lip Color. I can’t wait to have more white packaging from Kosas.

Makeup Review: BareMinerals Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick

The Mineralist Hydra-Smoothing Lipstick from BareMinerals is a vegan lipstick that promises hydration, nourishment, and pigmentation while smoothing and softening the lips using european sea buckthorn fruit oil, mediterranean olive oil, moroccan pomegranate extract, and jojoba oil. It’s also formulated without parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and synthetic fragrance. They have 25 shades from nude to reds to cater to a variety of skin tones.

They sent me the entire collection, all 25 shades, which I’m really thankful for. Not only that I got to try the shades, I finally found the right brown for me (something with a pink or peach tone) and I also knew how nude I can go (apparently lighter than I thought I would).

The lipsticks have a fragrant scent. The actual product is very pigmented but it applies almost like a balm would – soft and smooth. Due to the texture and finish, this doesn’t last long. However, applying these feel like just applying a lip balm, only with the color payoff of a lipstick. They don’t emphasize the lines of the lips and my lips felt soft and smooth after use. It’s indeed hydrating than most lipsticks.

I have been constantly reaching for the shades Presence (antique mauve), Memory (neutral rose), Grace (nude pink), and Focus (muted mauve) for every day while Fortitude (plum berry) and Intuition (brick red) is what I’ve been using for nights out.
