Bodycare Review: Sol de Janeiro Coco Cabana Cream and Brazilian Nude Cream

I have been on the lookout for the most suitable body moisturizer for me and I might have found them through these body creams from Sol de Janeiro.

Ticking my wish for a thin, quick-sinking texture, the Coco Cabana Cream ($45) promises to treat and transform the driest and most dehydrated skin. It contains coconut oil, fermented sugar, cupuaçu butter, and açaí oil to provide lasting hydration while nourishing the skin. This has a sweeter more coconut-y scent than I would prefer. The scent lasts so long as well. I once used this before bed and I woke up to my bedroom smelling like a beach. Scent aside, I love how this sinks in so quickly and how it dries matte on the skin. I like using this on days when I know it would be too hot outside. It keeps my skin moisturized without the tackiness and grossness.

If you’re looking for something fragrance-free, the Brazilian Nude Cream ($40), promises to nourish, hydrate, balance, and soothe even the most sensitive skin. It uses brazilian passionflower and colloidal oatmeal. It’s lightweight and creamy, a sweet middle ground between the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream and Coco Cabana Cream. It also applies thinly on the skin and doesn’t leave a sticky feeling.

These products are cruelty-free, vegan, and are made without gluten, soy, parabens, artificial colorants, phthalates, PEGs, talc, sulfate, mineral oil, and microbeads.

Bodycare Review: Luxury Hand Creams

Being more mindful of moisturizing my hands nowadays. Currently using the new Luxury Hand Cream from Henne Organics.

The hand cream promises to moisturize the skin without the greasy feeling using aloe leaf juice, argan oil, glycerin, jojoba seed oil, caprylic triglycerides, and shea butter. It comes in two scents – Blomma, a blend of twinflower, rose, and geranium, and Citrus.

The tube packaging of the Luxury Hand Creams are very luxurious and compact. Both hand creams have a silky oily finish which I can still feel after minutes of application. It feels better when my skin is feeling extremely dry. The scent is strong, with the Citrus a tad stronger than Blomma, upon application but dissipates seconds after. What I also noticed with these hand creams is that you might need to put more than a pea-sized amount for each hand. They are moisturizing and the moisture they bring lasts more than most hand creams but personally, my hands normally don’t feel that dry so, on normal days, I prefer something that doesn’t feel oily.

Cult Favorite: Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Oooh, the smell of the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($45) from Sol de Janeiro is out of this world amazing. It aims to smooth and visibly tighten the appearance of the skin using guaraná extract, cupuaçu butter, açaí oil, coconut oil, and guayusa.

This feels thick but goodness, this is one of the best smelling skincare products I have ever come across. It might feel thick and I would have to get more product to apply but it sinks in luxuriously into the skin, quickly as well. It doesn’t feel sticky afterward, which I thought would happen. It leaves the skin velvety and soft. The moisture lasts for so long. I put this on one afternoon and my skin still felt soft and smooth 24 hours after. I like to use this at night and wake up with smooth and firm skin.

This product is also cruelty-free, vegan, and are made without gluten, soy, parabens, artificial colorants, phthalates, PEGs, talc, sulfate, mineral oil, and microbeads.

Cult Favorite: Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40, Defense Refresh (Re)setting Mist SPF 40, PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 with Sunflower Extract

I’m trying to be really diligent when it comes to applying and reapplying sunscreen and Supergoop is really helping me with that.

I got a restock of the Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40, which I like using on my face. It has an oil-free formula but the gel texture of this SPF surprisingly feels oily. I like using it when I want a dewy finish to my look. It blends well with my hydrating foundation and it doesn’t leave a white cast.

If I want to reapply, the travel-size version of the Defense Refresh (Re)setting Mist SPF 40, which comes in a liquid formula, comes in handy. It has a spray nozzle, making reapplication easy. I like how light it feels and it made me not forget reapplying every two hours.

For the rest of my body, I have been using the PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 with Sunflower Extract. I easily get warm, which makes me sweat a lot so the water and sweat resistant of this sunscreen is really a plus.

Cult Favorite: Briogeo Tea Tree + Eucalyptus Clean Deodorant

It was love at first swipe with the Tea Tree + Eucalyptus Clean Deodorant from Briogeo.

For a couple of years I have gotten on the natural deodorant train and I have gotten off numerous times. When things got tough and sticky, I go back to my old deodorant – wanting its stability of not making me smell and sweat. However, using the Tea Tree + Eucalyptus Clean Deodorant made me stay the longest and I can finally say that I don’t think I will falter again.

This deodorant promises to be a natural, non-toxic, plant-based deodorant that doesn’t contain aluminum, zinc, talc, or baking soda. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and is made without silicone, gluten, paraben, and sulfate. It aims to neutralize odor, soothe irritation using tea tree, eucalyptus, and coconut water.

The clear stick swipes on easily onto the skin without any marks, making it easy to get dressed in the morning without worrying about stains. You don’t have to avoid your armpits when putting on a top, in case it puts white marks on your clothing. It virtually has no smell, just a hint of fresh mint, also so it doesn’t fight your body cream or fragrance. I sweat easily and this prevents me from getting sweat stains. This claim also lasts for more than 20 hours. I know because I used this during a long haul flight. I have been using this for months now and I also noticed that my underarms look lighter. It’s amazing honestly and I have recommended this to all my friends.
